Meet Owner, Kelly Kortman
Kelly Kortman is the owner of Vacation Rentals in Leavenworth, which offers incredible vacation rentals in central Washington. Kelly began his foray in vacation rental properties back in 2007, when he purchased and renovated The Cabin at Eagle Creek. Since then, Kelly has also transformed The Chalet at Icicle Creek in 2014 and in 2017 both The LakeView at Cedar Brae and The Rustic at Lake Wenatchee into fantastic vacation rentals in Leavenworth. All properties have been fully renovated at a cost approaching 3/4 of a million dollars.
Kelly is himself a current resident of Leavenworth, where he manages assets for clients in the Greater Seattle area. He has a wide range of prior work experience, from serving as an infantryman in the United States Army to working as a real estate agent. Kelly loves to travel and has lived in several other Washington cities, as well as Chicago, Honolulu, Tempe, San Francisco, Houston and all over Seattle and the Peninsula (Bainbridge, Poulsbo, Kingston).. “I’ve had many jobs and experiences in my life that have led me to being an excellent candidate for owning and operating vacation rentals,” says Kelly, who is a published author on the subject. “I’ve landscaped, painted, designed interiors, worked in the hotel industry, and worked in the customer service industry. I’ve also worked my whole life to get to a point where I could do something like this.”

About the Book
In 2013, Kelly published his first book, Vacation Rental Cash Flow Avalanche: Turning Your Vacation Rental into a Financial Success. In the book, Kelly takes his real-life experience of turning a very simple property into of the most successful vacation spots in Leavenworth.
Kelly discusses how to find the right property to purchase as well as how to renovate it to be what guests are looking for in a vacation rental. Then he shares how to market the property, arrive at pricing and manage a few of the important legalities. Finally, Kelly provides a troubleshooting guide to help owners deal with the most prevalent guest issues.
